Before we answer the question about how to prevent early extension in your golf swing it makes sense to underline exactly what an 'early extension' is.
Early Extension is defined as any forward movement (thrust) of the lower body towards the golf ball during the downswing. When we set up to hit the golf ball we can often have good posture at address but then lose this as we start to make a swing. This is in contrast to seeing the hands unhinge early at impact in what is referred to as flipping the club swing error and can also occur as a result of casting.
